Information We Collect

- Account Information: Email address, name, and password (encrypted)
- Profile Data: Athlete names, seasons, games, and practice information
- Video Content: Videos you record are stored locally on your device and uploaded to Firebase Storage for cloud backup and cross-device access.
- Photo Content: Photos you capture or import are stored locally on your device and uploaded to Firebase Storage for cloud backup and cross-device access.
- Usage Statistics: Play results, batting and pitching statistics, game scores, and golf round scores
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version for app optimization
- Sync Data: When you use our cross-device sync feature, data is stored in Firebase Firestore
- Push Notification Token: Your device token is stored in Firestore to deliver in-app and push notifications
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain the PlayerPath service
- Enable cross-device synchronization of your data
- Calculate and display your performance statistics
- Improve and optimize our app based on usage patterns
- Send important service announcements (if you opt in)
- Respond to your support requests
Data Storage and Security
- Video and photo files are stored locally on your device in the app's secure container
- Video and photo files are uploaded to Firebase Storage (Google Cloud) for cloud backup and cross-device access
- Account data and metadata are stored using Firebase Authentication and Firestore
- All data transmission uses industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS)
- We implement appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access

- Firebase Analytics (Google): Usage analytics linked to your account, to improve the app
- Firebase Crashlytics (Google): Crash reports linked to your account, to fix bugs
- Firebase Performance Monitoring (Google): App speed measurements, not linked to your account
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google): Delivering push notifications
- Firebase App Check (Google): Confirming requests come from the genuine app
- Firebase Cloud Functions (Google): Server features such as invitations and subscription status
- Resend: Delivering emails such as coach invitations
- Apple Sign In: Optional authentication method
- Apple StoreKit: Subscription and in-app purchase processing
You can turn off usage analytics, crash reports and performance measurements in App Preferences.
These services have their own privacy policies governing their use of your information.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.
We may share data only in these circumstances:
- With your explicit consent (e.g., sharing videos with coaches)
- To comply with legal obligations
- To protect our rights and safety
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Export your data in a portable format
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Opt out of optional data collection
- Withdraw consent at any time
To exercise these rights, use the "Export Data" and "Delete Account" options in the app settings.
Data Retention
- We retain your data as long as your account is active
- When you delete your account, all data is permanently removed within 30 days
- Video files on your device are deleted when you uninstall the app
- Backup copies are automatically deleted after 30 days
Children's Privacy
PlayerPath accounts are held by adults. Parents and guardians create and manage athlete profiles for their children, and are responsible for the information in them. Children may not create their own accounts, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.
Our Website
This policy also covers our website, playerpath.net.
- Newsletter: if you subscribe, we store your email address to send PlayerPath updates. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
- Academy and contact inquiries: if you use a contact form, we store the name, email, organization, roster size and message you enter, and use them only to reply to you.
- Website services: our website forms are stored with Supabase, and emails are delivered by Resend.
- Technical data: like most websites, our hosting providers receive your IP address and browser details when you visit. The site loads fonts from Google Fonts.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy in the app and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
